Architectural Design is an art form that expresses the designer’s creative vision for a structure. Architectural Design covers many aspects of architecture like surveying, selection, material use, lighting, windows, doors, and ventilation. Architectural Design is also known as Design for one or more buildings. Architectural Design is the combination of many art forms. Architectural Design is a field of specialization that takes into account the functional, aesthetic, sociological and economical aspects. This is a field of architecture that uses many different types of art forms such as painting, architecture, and sculpture.

Architraves: This type of architecture refers generally to the highly stylized architectural style which was highly popular in ancient Greece and Rome during the first centuries AD. This architectural style usually adheres to the idea of constructing buildings using a geometrical blueprint. This is a relatively simple way of designing buildings and other physical structures.

Timeline: This architectural method of planning the future of a project. The term timeline refers to a drawing of architectural and historical perspectives. A proposed building is prioritized based on its relation to other existing structures in the same area. Timetables are frequently prepared for public works projects or planned urban renewal projects. The most significant part of the proposed timeline for any project is the schedule chart or the critical date.

Aesthetics/Aesthetic Design: This refers to artistic preferences, as in decorating an interior space. Aesthetics refers to the aesthetic values, as in art, architecture, literature, music, etc., that derive from a human activity. Modernism is the dominant aesthetic style in the early twentieth century. The emphasis of this style is to develop aesthetic experiences through a progressive sequence of stages, from the smallest decorative detail to the largest structural change.

Modular Architecture: The use of progressive levels of technological advance in architecture. Modular buildings contain many of the elements required for completing a building. A popular type of modular architecture is the cantilevered building. Cantilever architectures are popularly used in office buildings because they are easy to install. The cantilever is one of the basic concepts behind the modernist architectural styles.

Functional Architecture: This architecture design considers the practicality and utility of an architectural structure. In other words, this architectural design is concerned with the “uses” rather than the “uses” of an architectural object. This school of thought is more concerned with efficiency than aesthetics, and emphasizes the importance of the user as the main driver of an architecture design.

Landscape Architecture: This design is considered one of the major architectural styles of the past, because it is the first one to contemplate the natural environment and landscape. Landscape architecture includes everything from seascapes to urban planning. This style of architecture is still used frequently today, even though most of the original techniques have been adopted and incorporated by landscape architects through the years.

Architectural Styles: There are many other styles of architecture, but these are some of the more popular ones. They all deal with the study and appreciation of the built environment and how it relates to people’s lives. People’s lives are affected by the way their home looks, because we spend so much time inside our houses and offices. The built environment has an enormous impact on people’s daily routines. This is why urban design and landscape architecture are considered essential parts of any intelligent planning.

Urban Planning and Design: Urban planners are the group of professionals who supervise the implementation of a city’s planning process. They are responsible for the layout and form of buildings, and the way they sit on a site. They must also be able to judge the feasibility of the planned development of the city. City planners and architects should therefore have a comprehensive understanding of building science and engineering, as well as knowledge of the built environment.

Concept Design: Just as architects have a very specialized job, concept designers do as well. A concept designer is an artist in the field of architecture. Conceptualizing architecture involves creating a model from raw materials, and then bringing it to life using different creative mediums. A concept designer’s work can be implemented through drawings, computer modeling and other design software. A concept designer’s job requires the artist to think creatively and productively.

Timeline: In general, all architectural styles share several basic architectural elements such as floor plans, architectural schematics, elevations and volumes. However, each of these elements will be altered depending upon the era in which the structure was created, or its overall purpose. Each timeline will therefore represent one architectural style that has been created. An architect must therefore be very skilled in the application of drawing and knowledge of historic periods and their respective structural elements.
